Some African parents, especially the Fathers, will always do anything to make their children take after them in their line of businesses, but for grandfather of Nigerian stand-up comedy, Alibaba, he is not bothered about the fact that non of his kids is about taking after him in his choice career.
Ali who recently started spontaneity, a platform designed to discover and nurture fresh talent in comedy, revealed that none of his kids is taking after him and he is not bothered.
“None of my kids is taking after me. However if you are talking about taking after me in sports, artworks and painting, then they are taking after me. My daughter paints, another sings and is a broadcaster, one writes and another is into fashion. They all have a sense of humour but not commercially. They initially did not think that Comedy was a business worthy going into but they have a great sense of humour and that’s as far as it goes. It’s not like they are looking to become the next Ali Baba, no,” he told The Entertainer.
